A-Rod Agonistes

Will we miss him? Will he miss us? Was it savvy or tacky of him to announce he was leaving the Yankees in the middle of the World Series? Where will he land? If he takes less money to be with Lou in Chicago, will that make this admirable? Discuss.

We'll miss his stats during the regular season, but we score enough runs to be competitive anyway. Hopefully Jeter can gracefully move to third and Cashman can make some good moves in the offseason that will keep the nucleus together yet leave an opening or two for a couple more youngsters.

I hadn't realized what an ego thing it is to be shortstop, nor did I know that many of the greats stayed at short their entire career. So I doubt Jeter will switch and doubt even more they'd ask him -- assuming he gets healthy and regains his (limited) range of motion. But I will NOT miss A-Rod's stats because he's not on my fantasy league. If I thought he helped the team, I would still want him at third. He does NOT help you build a team that can go the distance.

You'll miss ARod's stats when the Yanks win 88 games and miss the playoffs because they didn't score enough runs.

And with that I'm officially done talking about ARod...let's move forward.

Yeah, let's move on. How do we reach Scott Brosius' agent?

Did Boston miss A-Rod whe they tried to sign him and now have the much less stat happy Lowell in his place? Seriously, do you think Boston would have done better w A-Rod than going to the World Series and sweeping? In fact, with the money and angst demands of A-Rod, if they HAD signed him, they might very well have NOT gone to the World Series. Isn't A-Rod proving that? Did the Yankees miss having only Scott Brosius at third?

Do I think Boston would be a better team with A-Rod and Magglio than Manny and Lowell? Yes.

How that translates to a four game series against an overmatched opponent is irrelevant in my mind.

Now I'm really done talking about him.
