Live From Korea

Sorry it's been so long guys, but writing a post from Laos really isn't all that practical (and I'm apologizing as if you people care and/or know who I am).
The point is I need a good little summary of the season so far. Just a paragraph or two will do, but just reading articles and box scores hasn't been enough to satiate me. I need it from you guys in the trenches every game. Any takers?

P.S. Is it wrong that I'm now almost as excited to see who the next celebrities to pull the lever will be as to actually watch a game? I'm hoping someone cancels last minute and they have to use a D-list reality TV "star."

Let's see here...

The offense really hasn't clicked at all. Partially due to slumps and partially due to injuries.

Giambi and Cano have been battling to see who can have the worst batting average in MLB (I'm not kidding, they've been at the bottom for a while now).

Posada has not been healthy since Opening Day and ARod has been out for a couple weeks. Rumors are that he could be back next week, at the All-Star Break, or next season.

Matsui, Damon, Abreu, and Jeter have been fine for the most part.

The young pitchers (Hughes, Kennedy) have been awful. Hughes has a cracked rib and pulled muscle so he's out till July, and Kennedy was so bad he got sent down to AAA (where he promptly pitched lights out again). Rasner and Igawa have rejoined the rotation in their absence.

Wang has been an ace, Pettitte has been good, and Moose has come on strong after a rough start. He started throwing much better once people started calling for him to be pulled from the rotation in favor of Joba.

The bullpen has been a revolving door but surprisingly effective. Mo is still on top of his game, Joba had one hiccup but is still lights out, and even Farnsworth seems to be in a groove.

I personally don't have any complaints with Girardi as I think he's doing the best he can with what he's been given.

Hank and Hal Steinbrenner are idiots and are making George look shy by comparison.

The season has basically gone like this: Lose, Lose, Win, Win, Lose, Win, Lose, Win. Fortunately the rest of the AL seems to stink as well so they haven't dug too big of a hole yet, but its just a matter of time unless they start putting together some longer winnint streaks.

That should sum it up.

Yes, being in Cannes, I agree with Brucie that boxscores dont cut it. Thank god for slingbox. Thx Joe.
