Hal aint Hank and George is out -- or Cashman would have been fired. Surely George would have fired SOMEONE after failing to make the post-season. I say it's good Cashman stays; heck, I was wrong about Hughes and Kennedy as well.
By the way, I think it' good because I believe Cashman is just starting to implement the strategy he believes in and that he'll dump Giambi and Abreu. If he doesn't go young and trade for really young talent (and Cano in the outfield is intriguing -- can he throw that far?), then I won't be happy. I just assume working with Hal will be the first time he really gets to do what he wants.
I'm also glad that Cash will still be around to finish what he started (and not trade away our pitching prospects for pennies on the dollar). His strategy though seems to be loading up on pitchers and only pitchers, so we'll have to make acquisitions in the free agent market for hitters. That's not a terrible proposition since there are more quality hitters available than top flight pitchers.
When do we start our "What moves should Cashman make" thread?
