Joba Out For Year?

No one I've spoken to believes Joba will pitch any more the rest of the year -- not the way the Yankees rushed him to Alabama for a minor, no-tear bit of tendinitis. Please. What say you?

I smell the makings of a good bet.

The stakes...
The winner gets to take out a personal ad in the loser's name. Description is entirely up to the winner, and loser's true phone number will be listed.

Who's up for the challenge of predicting Joba's comeback status?

You're scary. If you let the others bet that he WON"T have any more starts, I'll bet you get some takers.

Not betting, but I think we see him again this year. Whether that is in the bullpen or not, who knows. Mind you this is predicated on the Yanks still being in the running. If they are 10 games out in 2 weeks then they'll shut him down. But if its under 5 they'll trot him back out there.

Good argument, Joe. They've already said he's progressing well and they def expect him to pitch again...in three weeks from the day he was shut down. But as the post-season looks less and less likely, why screw with it? And next year he can prepare throughout spring training and know the entire time he's in the rotation.
