The rich get richer

At what point does the entire National League just get demoted to AAA?

This Detroit team is getting scary...look at this lineup...I think its the best in baseball:

Granderson
Renteria
Cabrera
Ordonez
Sheffield
Pudge
Thames
Guillen
Polanco

Except for Cabrera every one of those guys is a good fielder, and they have power and speed throughout the order.

With that rotation (Verlander, Bonderman, Willis, Robertson, Rogers), top notch bullpen, and the best manager in the game...they are going to be very tough to beat. At least now I have some hope that somebody can give the Red Sox a run for their money.

They're the best team...on paper. I remember how year after year Notre Dame was the best team in college football...at the beginning of the season. The Yankees were NEVER the best team on paper during their dynasty. They NEVER had the number one starting pitcher or even number two starting pitcher from 96-2000. Did anyone win the Cy Young during those years? I don't think so. I'm not downplaying the formidableness of that lineup. It is impressive. But All-Stars don't make a team. Unless you're playing fantasy baseball.
